Introducing Energy on OnlyFacts

Jun. 07, 2024

We’ve published a new section on OnlyFacts that focuses on energy, which tracks the transition to renewables in Australia's domestic electricity systems.

A few highlights:

Daily updates

The energy data is updated every morning at around 4am AEST with the previous day’s data.

Comparisons

  • Never miss the daily data and trends showing our electricity fuel mix.
  • Compare countries and Australian states and territories in the race to renewables.

Most relevant data drilldowns

Things to know about the data:

  • Right now, the data focuses mainly on Australia's domestic electricity markets.
  • Most data comes from the excellent website OpenNEM and we’re indebted to the extraordinary work done by this team. We hope to multiply OpenNEM’s impact, by broadening access.
  • Most of our data currently does not include WA or NT. That’s because these states use separate electricity systems from the National Electricity Market (NEM) and so the data is less accessible. We hope to add these soon.

Help us improve!

OnlyFacts is a perpetual work in progress. We’d love your feedback to help guide how we should iterate. Drop us a line.
