• Solar power is Australia's leading renewable energy source, with rooftop solar dominating. Wind power is growing, hydropower is consistent, and bioenergy is low.
• This data, via OpenNEM, reflects the electricity grids for Tasmania, SA, Victoria, NSW, ACT and coastal Queensland. WA and NT not currently included. Trend data updated at end of month.

Australia's electricity grid is powered by fossil fuels (coal and gas) and renewables (solar, wind and hydro).

By 2030, the country aims to get 82% of its electricity from renewable sources.

• Tasmania is a renewables leader because of its hydropower capability. South Australia also gets most of its power from renewable sources.
